Top Ten Comic Book/Graphic Novel Movies

Through the years movies have been made based on comic books, graphic novels or comic book characters. Some have been excellent movies worthy of the praise any other movie might get in a different less childish genre. Some have not been so good, anyone remember Daredevil or X-Men 3. Well, this list isn’t about the comic book movies that were terrible, it’s about the comic book movies that were good. When you here comic book, you might think of super powers, but that’s not always true. In fact, more than half the movies on the list don’t involve any powers. Well here’s a list of my top ten favorite movies based on comic books or comic book characters:

10. The Mask

The decently comically written movie was made hilarious by funny man Jim Carrey.

9. A History of Violence

The grisly crime thriller, is well acted, violent and intelligently woven.

8. Batman

The original Tim Burton film was fun to watch because of the beautiful sets and the hysterical performance by Jack Nicholson.

7. The Incredible Hulk

The action sequences were intense and creative, while the acting was top-notch.

6. Spider-Man

The original Spider-Man was an excellent way to get the genre started back again.

5. Iron Man

This was an excellent film filled with entertaining scenes and acting.

4. V for Vendetta

A dark and entertaining criticism on society.

3. Sin City

This Pulp Fiction hybrid is visually spectacular.

2. Batman Begins

A dark and moody film that started a series of perfection.

1. The Dark Knight

A flawless film about good vs. evil and the choices they are forced to make. The Dark Knight isn’t just the greatest comic book movie, but also one of the greatest movies of all time.

#1 The Joker (The Dark Knight)

The reason I love The Dark Knight is because it is the most perfect rendition I have ever seen of good vs. evil and that evil that I’m talking about is my #1 favorite character of all time, and I don’t see any character surpassing The Joker, because what you have is an evil so psychotic, so sadistic, and with zero empathy for the world he’s destroying in his path that nothing he does next would surprise you unless it was something good. He’s genius in all he wrong ways because he faces his enemies with impossible choices and enjoys watching them scrirm. He’s not even able to kill the one person who stands in his way because he enjoys the thrill of having a nemesis, because he understands that like the Devil needs god, evil needs good, and The Joker needs Batman or life would just be so boring. From the many ways Joker got his scars to The Joker’s twisted logic of what’s right and wrong, the Joker is the greatest character in film history in my opinion and I dare you to argue that fact.

  • Actor: Heath Ledger
  • Quote: “You, you just couldn’t let me go, could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are, incorruptable aren’t you? You won’t kill me out of some miplaced sense of self-righteousness and I won’t kill you because you’re just too much fun. I get the feeling you and I are destined to do this, forever.”
  • Action: Burns an incredibly large amount of money just so he can “watch the world burn”.

The Dark Knight’s Last Stand

!!!PLEASE READ NOW!!!

!!!PLEASE READ IMMEDIATLY!!!

Last weekend, The Dark Knight was in it’s third weekend and I didn’t write this article last week because I honestly believed that The Dark Knight could beat The Mummy 3 in its third weekend and I was right. The Dark Knight was higher in its third week than Mummy was in its first by 1.4 million dollars. Now is where everyone is saying that The Dark Knight is going to fall, they’re saying that it will never beat Titanic or even go another weekend on top. Well I say that we as fans can and will proof these non-believers wrong like we did last weekend let’s show them all what’s possible when it comes to this movie.

This spectacular movie has broken almost every record in the book and I’m aiming for it to beat one more and that’s to beat Titanic out of the top spot for most money made Domestically. Titanic has made $600,788,188 Domestically. So far, The Dark Knight has made $394,887,000. What’s a measly little $200,000,000 when it comes to a movie this good, if there’s one movie that could do it, it’s The Dark Knight whose broken the record for most money made in a span of 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and even 10 days. It even broke the record for most made in  the first weekend, which most said was impossible, but we as fans proofed them wrong. Well, let’s proof them wrong again with The Dark Knight’s Last Stand.

If like me and are a fan of The Dark Knight than read on, if your like me and enjoy The Dark Knight more than Titanic than read on, if your also like me and want to see the movie with Heath Ledger’s final completed performance make more than Titanic Domestically, than read on please. I have seen The Dark Knight several times so far and am going to see it at least twice this weekend. If you have not seen The Dark Knight yet, please go see it, you will not regret it, the movie is astounding and anyone who has seen it will tell you the same unless they’re just trying to be an outcast. If you already have seen the movie, see it again this weekend, multiple times. Let’s as fans show the world that a movie this good is able to be better than it previous weekends, probably not its first or second, but at least substantially higher than its third, no that its third was bad because it did beat a movie that had a bit of a following. If you’re a Dark Knight send this URL to other Dark Knight fans, tell all the Dark Knight fans about what you read here, and force the people you know who haven’t seen it yet into their closest theater. If you are a true Dark Knight fan than post a comment here telling all viewers how many times you’ve seen the movie and how many times you plan to see the movie this weekend. Thank-You.

The Dark Knight is spectacular and every scene is great, but I did my best. See the movie if you haven’t yet, it has tobeat Titanc Domestically, but if you haven’t, don’t read ahead.

#2 Jack Torrence (The Shining)

Here he is, Jack Torrence, known for his axing down of doors and and referances to late night TV shows. He is one of the greatest characters in film history and it was hard for me to make him number two because he’s so dang memorable. From his extremely repetitive novel to his discussions with imaginary Bartenders, this character is one of the many reasons why Jack Nicholson is my favorite actor. Mr. Torrence is spectacular character and Jack Nicholson is a spectacle to watch as him.

  • Actor: Jack Nicholson
  • Quote: “Wendy, darling, light of my life, I’m not gonna hurt you, you didn’t let me finish my sentence. I’m not gonna hurt ya, I’m just gonna bash your brains in, ha, I’m just gonna bash them righ the fuck in!! HA ha”
  • Action: Writes what everyone thinks to be a novel for a month and a half, but it turns out to be the same sentence over and over, All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Step Brothers Review

I wish I coul d go back in time and tell myself not to see this movie because it was absolutely dreadful. It wasn’t even the kind of movie that you could call funny, but stupid, it was just stupidity from start to finish. It was as if, while I was watching the movie I was given the middle finger and being told by Will Farrell, “You actually paid for this shit, I can make any crappy movie I want and still make money”. There were only a few funny jokes in the whole movie. The rest of the time they just tried way too hard with pointless, immature, unfunny crap. I pray that Pineapple Express will be better than this crap. I know it will be though because Seth Rogen is the main character instead of the big jack ass we all know as Will Farrell. 99.9% of the movie I was just thinking to myself, were they serious when they decided to make this movie, is this some kind of sick joke. The other.1% I was laughing a little bit. Do yourself the favor of not wasting your money because I wouldn’t see this crap again even if I were paid.
