Pineapple Express Review

This was a great comedy and unlike Tropic Thunder was just laugh after laugh with different jokes instead of just repeating the same unfunny ones. The movie  was consistently funny, and a bit less raunchy than past Apatow projects, which is somewhat of a breath of fresh air, not that I don’t like the raunchy Superbad comedy, it’s just nice to see Rogen and Apatow can still be hilarious when it’s not forced. Pineapple Express reminded me of a more funny version of Hot Fuzz. Everyone was hilarious as usual Seth Rogen was funny as hell and James Franco was perfect as the pothead pot dealer. The only problem was the main characters who get high about one thousand times during the movie seem to be smarter than the average pot head, like how Dale figures out they might find them because he threw his roach. This movie was consistently hilarious in every scene and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys movies like Knocked Up and Superbad.

Tropic Thunder Review

Let me begin this review with the statement that I truly hate Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller with a passion, but I’m not being biast when I say that I truly don’t see what all the fuss is about with this movie, it was not that funny. I say this though, even though I hate Cruise more than Stiller, Tom Cruise was freaking hilarious I laughed whenever he was on screen. Robert Downey Jr. was pretty funny too, but I expected more from Jack Black. Stiller sucked as usual. The referances to classic war movies were pretty funny, but other than that, most of the time they wouldn’t make any funny spare of the moment jokes like all comedies need, they’d just try to make you laugh at the same joke that you probably didn’t even laugh at the first time. Like the whole Simple Jack thing wasn’t even funny and they just kept pushing it on you. All and all, there were some funny parts involving Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr., but enough of it to recommend this movie.

Step Brothers Review

I wish I coul d go back in time and tell myself not to see this movie because it was absolutely dreadful. It wasn’t even the kind of movie that you could call funny, but stupid, it was just stupidity from start to finish. It was as if, while I was watching the movie I was given the middle finger and being told by Will Farrell, “You actually paid for this shit, I can make any crappy movie I want and still make money”. There were only a few funny jokes in the whole movie. The rest of the time they just tried way too hard with pointless, immature, unfunny crap. I pray that Pineapple Express will be better than this crap. I know it will be though because Seth Rogen is the main character instead of the big jack ass we all know as Will Farrell. 99.9% of the movie I was just thinking to myself, were they serious when they decided to make this movie, is this some kind of sick joke. The other.1% I was laughing a little bit. Do yourself the favor of not wasting your money because I wouldn’t see this crap again even if I were paid.

The Dark Knight Review

This movie has undoubtedly exceeded my very unrealistic expectations , in fact, this movie would have exceeded my expectations no matter how high they were. I am sick of his movie being compared to stupid movies like Spider-Man and Fantastic Four because saying that this movie is one of the greatest comic book movies of all time is bringing it down a notch, because folks believe it or not this is by far the greatest comic book movie of all time, and not only that, but it’s also one of the greatest movies of all time period. That’s right, I said it, and I’ll say it again, this is one of the greatest movies of all time. What are you gonna do, call me a fan boy, say that I would’ve liked it even if it sucked because it was a Batman movie. That’s not true at all, I didn’t start liking Batman until Batman Begins, which was in my opinion an A+ movie, but this was so much better in so many ways. This is an amazing movie, if you miss seeing it, I’m sorry.

Let me start my next comment with a little message to the 1 to 1000000000000000 ratio of critics who didn’t like this movie. There was barely any of you out there, but to that minimal amount of people, Fuck You. I’m sorry, I know that I’m supposed to allow everyone to have their own opinion, but I can’t think of a single reason to give this movie below an A, and A+ for that matter. The only reason I could possibly think of is the fact that you couldn’t handle everyone in the world liking it, so you had to be the few people to give it a bad grade, or maybe it was that you couldn’t handle the fact that this genre of movie could bring a movie this amazing. Whatever the reason, to those very few critics who didn’t give this movie a good grade, find a new profession and fast, the one you have right now isn’t going to work out.

This movie was flawless, I could watch this movie 100 times and still not figure out a single thing that bothered me in the movie. It was flawlessly directed, written, and acted by every cast member especially Ledger, but I’ll get to that later. Maggie was ten times the Rachel Dawes that Holmes was. Aaron Eckhart was delightfully cool and fun that transforms into disfigured and dangerous, and he makes the part his own with such indiscribeble flair. Caine and Freeman are at the top of their game as always. Christian Bale was fantastic, he added much more complexity to a complex character, he surpassed his original already good performance with flying colors.

Now we get to Heath Ledger, I’ve been looking forward to this performance for a year now, where as I was anticipating the movie itself for three years. My expectations for this character were off the charts, I knew this character would be amazing, but to tell you the truth, I had no idea. The Joker actually exceeded my expectations, he was insane, disturbing, hysterically funny, suicidal, and loads o fun. It is impossible for a character to be better than this, impossible. I am just sad that I started my Top 50 characters list before I saw this movie, he would have been near the top, For Sure. I don’t want to give anything away, but lets just say that he makes feel insecure while he’s around you because he torments your mind with disturbing choices. The Joker is what you would get if you put Jack Torrence, Alex DeLarge, Hannibal Lecter, and paint in a blender and then multiplied it all by 10. Heath Ledger/The Joker is amazing, he kills, destroys and burns, whatever comes his way for one purpose only, to have a blast. Well, while The Joker was having a blast, I was having a blast watching him. He put a smile on my face every time he walked on the screen.

The Dark Knight is spectacular. Oh, forgot to mention this, this is a comic book movie so every kid on earth is gonna wanna see, but take my word for it, do not bring children to this movie. As much as I want to see this movie make a lot of money because it’s amazing I’m gonna have to say do not do it, this movie is not and will never be intended towards children. Anyways, back to the review, The Dark Knight could not have been better than this was. Go see it multiple times now, you will not regret it. If you go in there wanting to have a good time, you’ll have and amazing time. If you go in there thinking you’ll have an ok time, you’ll have an amazing time. If you were dragged into it and you hate Batman and super hero films, you’ll have an amazing time. If you go in there trying to be a critic and attempting to point out flaws because you feel that there has to be at least one person who hates it, you’ll still probably have an amazing time, except for a few of you who are blinded by comic book physique. I know I said it multiple times already, but I’m going to say it again with a few different adjectives, The Dark Knight was unbelievably incredible and leaves you with an astonished speechlessness. This is why I love movies. The Dark Knight is a masterpiece.

Wall-E Review

Wall-E is tremendous, astounding, and delightful. So far this year, it doesn’t get better then this movie. Everything in the movie is well-thought out, creative, and interesting to watch. The enviornments and characters are both colorful and entertaining. It’s visually spectacular. Pixar has never made a bad movie in my mind and I truly believe this is their best. What you’ve got is a lonely little robot who doesn’t need words to show emotion. All he needs is his heart, curiousity, and determination. It’s impossible to declare every pro of this movie because there are so many, it is also impossible to tell the cons of this movie because there are none. Pixar has geniously established a robot so realilistic that it doesn’t even say more than six words, but we know exactly what he’s thinking and what he’s fighting for, and that my friends is love. Wall-E is brilliant and entertainment at its best. You’ll laugh, cry, smile, and jump for what is in my mind the greatest animated film ever made.

Hancock Review

What can be said about Hancock? Watch the trailer right now and don’t see the movie because that 3 minutes is the only fun you will receive out of this movie. Hancock has a great premise, the human super hero who makes mistakes and has emotional problems, it could’ve made a great dramedy for all ages, but instead it loses its direction and doesn’t know where to go with the story at all. It seems like a smart man told his five year old mute son about an idea for a movie and had a heart-attack, then his five year old son had to write his own rendition of the idea. Hancock could’ve just been a good dramedy about a super hero who makes mistakes, but learns learns to do better, and a society that learns to love what they got. Instead half way through the movie, new pointless information keeps piling onto your lap that you don’t even care about or want to know about and if you see the movie you’ll know what I’m talking about. They took a fun, simple idea and tried to make it complex and epic, which it was anything but, it was exactly like the travesty that was Spider-Man 3 last year. The movie was terrible, Wanted was better and I didn’t like that movie either.
